Everyone loves a chocolate chip cookie recipe!

We've turned things up a notch and added a delicious sweet cream cheese to the cookie dough and this gives a lovely creamy, soft texture to the cookie, and combined with the chocolate chips, these cookies are so easy to eat with a nice cold glass of milk.

This recipe is super easy, and the ingredients we've used are easy to find, and you're likely to have most if not all of the ingredients in your pantry already. You don't need any special equipment, although a hand mixer will make it quicker and easier to mix the ingredients.

½ cup or 115g unsalted butter, softened
4 oz or 115g cream cheese, softened
1 cup or 200g granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cups or 250g all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 & ½ cups or 470g chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until fluffy.

3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until well combined.

4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.

5. Gradually add the dry and wet ingredients, mixing until combined.

6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving 1 inch of space between each cookie.

8. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still appear soft but will continue to set as the cookies cool.

9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
